Mending of Mothers Inc. is preparing for our upcoming mission trip on February 23, 2026 to Costa Rica, where we will be providing essential resources, personal hygiene items, bath & body products, self-care supplies, and emotional support to single mothers in need.
Many mothers are doing their best to care for their families while navigating hardship with limited access to basic necessities. Through this mission, our goal is to remind them they are seen, supported, and not alone.

At MOMs, our programs are designed to support the whole person—not just one moment of need. Through education, wellness, economic empowerment, and community connection, we help underserved mothers and families build stability, confidence, and lasting independence. Each program works together as part of a holistic pathway, meeting women where they are and equipping them with the tools, resources, and support needed to thrive.
A six-week cohort that equips men and women with practical job readiness and career development skills, from resume building to interview preparation. Participants gain the confidence, resources, and support needed to secure employment, build stable income, and pursue long-term housing stability.
A 12-week cohort that strengthens families through parenting education, emotional wellness, and financial literacy. Through partnerships with local banks, moms set SMART goals, create debt repayment plans, and build strong financial habits while nurturing healthy family bonds.
A 12-week holistic life-skills program for women and children in transitional housing, focused on wellness, sustainability, and empowerment. Families develop healthy routines and practical tools that support long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
Held every second Saturday, this program offers mothers creative expression through guided art experiences and sister-circle discussions at the Crocker Art Museum. These sessions foster emotional wellness, healing, and meaningful community connection.
A donation-supported initiative, named for the late-philanthropist Lerline Gandy, providing professional clothing to participants upon completion of the Job Readiness program or preparing for interviews and employment. The Closet helps participants show up with confidence and dignity as they take the next step toward economic independence.
This program addresses food insecurity by teaching gardening skills and promoting healthy eating in local housing communities. Through hands-on education and a mobile farmers market, Rolling Roots Farm transforms underutilized spaces into sources of nourishment, pride, and community resilience.
The work we do at Mending of Mothers is made possible through the generosity and collaboration of our community partners and sponsors. Together, we are creating pathways to stability, opportunity, and long-term success for underserved mothers and families in Greater Sacramento.
Our partners bring more than financial support—they share expertise, resources, and a deep commitment to equity and community well-being. From employment and financial education to wellness, housing, and food access, these collaborations strengthen our programs and expand the impact of every service we provide.
We are deeply grateful to the organizations and individuals who stand with us. Their investment helps mothers not only meet immediate needs, but also build sustainable futures for themselves, their children, and their communities.
Our programs are offered in cohorts to ensure each participant receives meaningful support, guidance, and community connection. If you’re ready to take the next step toward stability, wellness, or economic independence—or if you’re referring someone who could benefit—we invite you to explore our current program cohorts.

Mending Of Mothers was proud to join as a presenting partner of the 3rd Annual L For Lupus Toy Drive & Giveaway. Covered in holiday cheer, this impactful event was a powerful reminder of what community looks like when we come together with purpose. In partnership with an incredible network of local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and dedicated volunteers, the event successfully supported over 150 registered families, providing joy, resources, and meaningful connection during the holiday season.
Thanks to overwhelming community support, more than 500 toys were distributed, and families enjoyed a full festive experience featuring a photobooth, DJ, live music, hot cocoa and cookies, an open bar, free haircuts and hairstyling, and access to valuable nonprofit resources.
The generosity extended across the region, with 14 Golden 1 Credit Union locations sponsoring donation drop boxes, alongside many other community businesses that stepped up to give back.
This event wasn’t just about toys—it was about creating moments, spreading hope, and uplifting families through collective compassion and collaboration.
We hope you'll join us in 2026!
